About Dr Sriram

A warm (the aircon is probably off) welcome to my office PC.

I am Sriram, and this is my life so far. Born in Madras, India in July 6, 1961; Moved to Chittaranjan, West Bengal in 1968 and later to Madras again as a boarder during 1974-76. Finished my schooling in Bombay at KV Colaba. Did my undergraduation in Chemical Engg at IIT Madras during '79 -'84 and followed it up with a Ph.D in Psychology at Eugene, Oregon (nice town). Been in Singapore since 1990 as a Lecturer in the Department of Social Work & Psychology. Married since 1991 to Vijaya and have fathered an amusing girl (Aarati, Born Oct, 3, 1993). My parents are in Nasik, India. I have three brothers, two are in India and one is in the USA.

Started using OS/2 2.0 in 1992 after an unpleasant encounter with SCO ODT ver 1. Soon advocated OS/2 in the local university forums and founded the user group with like-minded others. Lately, OS/2 related activities have seen a marked increase especially after the advent of Warp.

Besides OS/2, I have found Scuba diving to be an other-worldly experience that I can legally indulge in Singapore (yeah, and that too! ). My views on many issues would be considered to be liberal locally (especially on freedom of speech) but I have "conservative" opinions on others. Come to think of it I don't have opinions on many issues cause I haven't thought about them. I am agnostic but can enjoy visiting temples and performing /watching rituals. If it matters, I am a beatle-maniac.
