DECISION ON ADOPTION OF
THE TROPICAL FORESTRY PROGRAMME
Prime Minister Decree No. 66/PM
THE GOVERNMENT OF THE LAO PEOPLE'S DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC DECIDES:
Article 1

The adoption of the Tropical Forestry Programme of Lao PDR which is composed with the following projects:

  1. Project for the promotion of development process.
  2. Project for the improvement of basic human resources in view of the programme's implementation.
  3. Project for the development of a new stable livelihood in view of upgrading the living conditions of people still practicing swidden agriculture or encroaching upon forested land.
  4. Project for the preservation of water catchment areas.
  5. Project for the stable and long term use of natural forestry resources.
  6. Project for the development of planted forests.
Article 2

The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry is assigned the task to coordinate with other relevant sectors in studying the elaborate content of each project mentioned hereabove in order to submit for the government's consideration.

Article 3

This Decision is binding and effective from the day it is signed.
