reference source contains: (a) Country Profiles - narrative descriptions of the communication scene, including brief history, present status and trends in communication development together with statistical data focusing on the communication infrastructure in each of the following: Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Nepal, Pakistan, People's Republic of China, Philippines, Republic of Korea, Singapore, Sri Lanka and Thailand;
(b) Theoretical Perspectives - four scholarly essays that reflect current attempts to integrate and interpret the data tin the profiles at a theoretical level;
